Taxonomy
Prosphingites nala was named by Diener (1897). It is not extant. Its type locality is Kiunglung Camp, SW of Niti Pass (Otoceras beds), which is in an Induan marine horizon in India. It is the type species of Anotoceras.
It was recombined as Anotoceras nala by Hyatt (1900), Spath (1934), Brühwiler et al. (2008), Dai et al. (2023).
