Taxonomy
Isurichthys breviusculus was named by Bannikov (2012). Its type specimen is PIN, 5419/1 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pshekha River, Gorny Luch, which is in a Rupelian marine horizon in the Pshekha Horizon Formation of the Russian Federation.
