Taxonomy
Phalium (Bezoardica) iani was named by Schenck (1926). Its type specimen is CAS 1747, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Phalium (Semicassis) iani by Etherington (1931); it was recombined as Liracassis iani by Moore (1963) and Hendy (2020).
