Taxonomy
Trachyceras arpatitoides was named by von Mojsisovics (1882). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Val di Cino, Esino, Perledo, which is in a Ladinian carbonate limestone in the Esino Formation of Italy.
It was recombined as Argolites arpaditoides by Fantini Sestini (1994).
