Taxonomy
Argolites fortis was named by Fantini Sestini (1994). Its type specimen is N.9148, Museo Civico di Storia Naturale, Bergamo and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Val Parina, S746, which is in a Longobardian perireef or subreef limestone in the Esino Formation of Italy.
