Taxonomy
Patelloida gradatus was named by Lindberg and Marincovich (1988). Its type specimen is USNM 414578, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Cenozoic M8028, which is in a Miocene marine horizon in the Bear Lake Formation of Alaska.
