Taxonomy
Paleocirroteuthis pacifica was named by Tanabe (2008). Its type specimen is CDM2006.2.1, an other (lower jaw), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is West side of Inland Highway (locality 1), which is in a Campanian marine siliciclastic in the Pender Formation of Canada.
