Taxonomy
Arca textrina was named by Stanton (1895). Its type specimen is USNM 23045 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Northwest of Stephenson Place, Cold Ford of Cottonwood Creek, which is in a Hauterivian/Barremian basinal (siliceous) mudstone/sandstone in the Stony Creek Formation of California.
It was recombined as Nemodon textrina by Reinhart (1937), Anderson (1938).
