Taxonomy

Desmoceras lecontei was named by Anderson (1902).

It was recombined as Cleoniceras lecontei by Anderson (1938); it was recombined as Leconteites lecontei by Casey (1954) and Jones et al. (1965).

Sonneratia rogersi was named by Hall and Ambrose (1916). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Puzosigella rogersi by Imlay (1960); it was synonymized subjectively with Leconteites lecontei by Jones et al. (1965).
Sonneratia taffi was named by Anderson (1938). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 152, East branch of Hulen Creek, which is in an Albian marine horizon in the Budden Canyon Formation of California.
