Taxonomy
Vidrioceras ellipticum was named by Ehiro and Ozawa (2020). Its type specimen is IGPS 112289, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Southern part of Miharanoro, which is in an Asselian carbonate limestone in the Uyamanoro Formation of Japan.
