Taxonomy
Germanonautilus bartovi was named by Parnes (1986). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Geological Survey of Israel, M-7904. Its type locality is Araif en-Naqa (Saharonim Fm., upper Fossiliferous Limestone Mb.), which is in a Fassanian carbonate limestone in the Saharonim Formation of Egypt.
