Tallinnicrinus toomae

Taxonomy
Tallinnicrinus toomae was named by Cole et al. (2020). Its type specimen is TUG 170-2, a calyx, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Porkuni Quarry, Siuge Member, which is in a Porkuni perireef or subreef lime mudstone/chert in the Ärina Formation of Estonia. It is the type species of Tallinnicrinus.

Cole et al. 2020Anthracocrinid with very low, flat-based calyx; convex, nodose ornamentation; infrabasals restricted to basal concavity; basals and radials along flat base of calyx and only marginally visible in side view; basals and radials in lateral contact, forming a single circlet of 10 plates; interrays in contact with the tegmen; proximal interray plating 1-2-2 or 1-2-3; proximal posterior plating P-3; three or four fixed tertibrachials; 20 free arm openings grouped by half-rays around the calyx margin; fixed pinnules flanking each half-ray.
