Diagnosis
Reference | Diagnosis | |
---|---|---|
A. Earland 1936 | Test minute, biconvex, the dorsal side exhibiting 3-4 convolutions is higher than the ventral and has five chambers in the last convolution; sutures distinct, flush, their white colour contrasting with the hyaline texture of the chambers; peripheral edge rounded; ventral side exhibiting only the five chambers of the final chamber on the ventral side. This little species is probably allied to E.karsteni (Reuss) and closely resembles the small form of that species figured by Brady from Magellan Straits, which is common in many deep-water deposits from the North Atlantic and elsewhere. But it differs in having an unbroken peripheral edge, and never has the ventral peripheral line shown in the Challenger figure. |
