Taxonomy
Plococeras was named by Hyatt (1900). Its type is Ceratites dalmatinus.

It was synonymized subjectively with Dinarites by Kummel (1969); it was reranked as Dinarites (Plococeras) by Buriy and Zharnikova (1981) and Zakharov and Popov (2007).

It was assigned to Dinaritidae by Spath (1934); and to Dinarites by Buriy and Zharnikova (1981) and Zakharov and Popov (2007).
