Taxonomy
Lytoceras (Gabbioceras) wintunium was named by Anderson (1938). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS 1348, Alderson Creek, which is in an Aptian marine horizon in the Budden Canyon Formation of California.
It was recombined as Gabbioceras wintunium by Murphy (1956); it was recombined as Eotetragonites wintunius by Murphy (1967).
