Taxonomy
Algites shurtanensis was named by Naugolnykh (2017). Its type specimen is GIN 4856/634 and is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Kiselevo-Suksun highway, which is in a Kungurian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Shurtan Formation of the Russian Federation.
