Taxonomy
Nothosaurus youngi was named by Li and Rieppel (2004). It is not extant. Its type specimen is IVPP V13590, a skeleton. Its type locality is Xingyi, which is in a Ladinian marine horizon in the Falang Formation of China.
It was recombined as Lariosaurus youngi by Lin et al. (2017).
