Taxonomy
Jacksonaster sanchezi was named by Lambert (1926). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loma de Callisto, Nuevitas, which is in an Oligocene marine horizon in Cuba. It is the type species of Sanchezella.
It was recombined as Sanchezella sanchezi by Durham (1954).
