Taxonomy
Platypleuroceras orbis was named by Bremer (1965). Its type specimen is Tübingen Ce 1259/71 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kösrelik, Ankara, which is in a Pliensbachian marine marl in Türkiye.
