Taxonomy
Calva (Calva) baptisia was named by Saul and Popenoe (1992). Its type specimen is LACMIP 7559 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACMIP loc. 26526, Dip Creek, Lake Nacimiento, which is in a Maastrichtian marine sandstone in the El Piojo Formation of California.
