Nassarius (Catilon) hamlini
Taxonomy
Nassa hamlini was named by Arnold (1907). Its type specimen is USNM 164946, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 3rd Street tunnel, which is in a Pliocene coastal shale in the Fernando Formation of California.
It was recombined as Nassarius (Uzita) hamlini by Grant and IV and Gale (1931); it was recombined as Nassarius (Catilon) hamlini by Addicott (1965).
