Taxonomy
Diaphus emensus was named by Schwarzhans (1985). Its type specimen is SADME 10321, an otolith, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Browns Creek, which is in a Priabonian deep subtidal ramp marl in the Browns Creek Clay Formation of Australia.
