Taxonomy
Chlorophthalmus oligocenicus was named by Schwarzhans (1980). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Otekaieke special school, which is in a Waitakian marine limestone in the Otekaike Limestone Formation of New Zealand.
It was recombined as Paraulopus oligocenicus by Schwarzhans (2019).
