Taxonomy
Blachea semeniformis was named by Schwarzhans (2019). It is extant. Its type specimen is NMNZ S.47479, an otolith. Its type locality is Little Pareora River, which is in a Waitakian marine siltstone in the Mount Harris Formation of New Zealand.
