Bannikov 2019 | A small callionymoid fish unique in having head large and elongate (37.2% SL); snout well-developed (16.6% SL); body naked; frontals separated from each other; posttemporal (apparently) not incorporated into neurocranium; endopterygoid absent; opercular bones thin; preopercle with posterior blunt spine; interopercle ribbon-like; opercle subtriangular, with fimbriated posterior margin; subopercle elongate and distally pointed; 18 (7+11) anteroposteriorly compact vertebrae; haemal spine of penultimate vertebra fused to centrum; caudal skeleton with hypurals, parhypural, uroneural and compound centrum consolidated into single plate and single epural; caudal fin with 14 short rays; spinous dorsal-fin absent; dorsal and anal fins with five unbranched rays each; pelvic fins short. |
