Pecten (Lyropecten) estrellanus terminus was named by Arnold (1906).

It was recombined as Pecten estrellanus terminus by Nomland (1916); it was recombined as Pecten terminus by Nomland (1917); it was recombined as Lyropecten terminus by Moore (1984), Smith (1991).
