Taxonomy
Pecten (Lyropecten) perrini was named by Arnold (1906).

It was recombined as Pecten (Vertipecten) nevadanus perrini by Grant and IV and Gale (1931); it was recombined as Vertipecten perrini by Moore (1984), Smith (1991).
