Taxonomy
Pecten (Patinopecten) turneri was named by Arnold (1906). It is extant. Its type locality is Arroyo San Antonio, which is in a Pliocene marine horizon in California.
It was synonymized subjectively with Pecten (Patinopecten) purisimaensis by Grant and IV and Gale (1931); it was recombined as Lituyapecten turneri by Moore (1984).
