Taxonomy
Diaphus nafpaktitisi was named by Schwarzhans and Ohe (2019). Its type specimen is SMF PO 101031, an otolith, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nobori 1, which is in a Piacenzian marine mudstone in the Nobori Formation of Japan.
