Hebertella prestonensis

Taxonomy
Hebertella sinuata prestonensis was named by Ladd (1929). Its type specimen is SUI 66503 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Hebertella prestonensis by Wright and Stigall (2013).

D. F. Wright and A. L. Stigall 2013Large to very large species of Hebertella characterized by a highly developed sulcus and obtuse ventral umbonal opening (≤140˚). Shell subquadrate; inflated dorsal and ventral valves, ventral valve with medial depression; sulcus very deep, narrow, many costae (≥17) inserted between inflection points; ventral interarea strongly catacline; ventral muscle scars wide; dorsal umbo strongly apsacline.
