It was recombined as Columbella richthofeni by Cooper (1888); it was recombined as Astyris richthofeni by Arnold (1908); it was synonymized subjectively with Mitrella carinata gausapata by Grant and IV and Gale (1931); it was recombined as Mitrella (Columbellopsis) richthofeni by Loel and Corey (1932).
