Taxonomy
Arca canalis was named by Conrad (1856). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Arca (Arca) trilineata by Grant and IV and Gale (1931); it was recombined as Anadara trilineata canalis by Winterer and Durham (1962); it was recombined as Anadara (Anadara) trilineata canalis by Reinhart (1943), Moore (1983).
