Taxonomy
Arca (Barbatia) strongi was named by Loel and Corey (1932) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; California.]. Its type specimen is UCMP 31762, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Anadara (Anadara) strongi by Reinhart (1943) and Moore (1983).
