Taxonomy
Clionites aberrans was named by von Mojsisovics (1896). It is not extant. Its type locality is Bambanag, Halorites Beds, which is in a Norian carbonate limestone in India.

It was recombined as Alloclionites aberrans by Tatzreiter (1981).
