Taxonomy
Palatobaena knellerorum was named by Lyson et al. (2021). Its type specimen is DMNH EPV.134081, a skull (complete cranium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is DMNH 8729, which is in a Puercan channel sandstone in the Denver Formation of Colorado.
