Taxonomy
Lobopterus pectinatus was named by Gorjanović-Kramberger (1895). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Comen (Trieste Museum collection), which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Povir Formation of Slovenia.
