Taxonomy
Praesargana argentea was named by Saul (1996). Its type specimen is USNM 482399, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS loc. 2759, near Silverado Canyon, Santa Ana Mountains, which is in a Turonian marine horizon in the Ladd Formation of California.
