Taxonomy
Erichalcis conspicua was named by Hermus et al. (2004). Its type specimen is UC11949, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is University of Calgary locality 93-3, Dragon Mountain, which is in an Albian offshore shale in the Christopher Formation of Canada.
