Taxonomy
Berycopsis pulcher was named by Bannikov and Bacchia (2005). Its type specimen is PIN 5089-3, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Hadjoula (PIN collection), which is in a Cenomanian carbonate limestone in Lebanon.
