Scutatoclupea applegatei
Taxonomy
Triplomystus applegatei was named by Alvarado-Ortega and Ovalles-Damián (2008). Its type specimen is INAH 1941, a skeleton (nearly complete articulated skeleton missing distal parts of the limbs), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is El Espinal Quarry, which is in an Aptian paralic claystone/limestone in the Sierra Madre Formation of Mexico.
It was recombined as Scutatoclupea applegatei by Bannikov (2015).
