Taxonomy
Scalacurvichthys naishi was named by Cawley and Kriwet (2018). Its type specimen is SMNK-PAL.8613, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Beit El, which is in a Cenomanian/Cenomanian carbonate limestone in Palestinian Territory. It is the type species of Scalacurvichthys.
