Lebonichthys lewisi
Taxonomy
Clupea lewisii was named by Davis (1887). Its type specimen is BMNH P4868, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hakel (Lewis collection), which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal carbonate in Lebanon.
It was recombined as Osmeroides lewisi by Woodward (1901); it was recombined as Holcolepis lewisi by Hay (1903); it was recombined as Lebonichthys lewisi by Forey (1973).
