Atira ornatissima
Taxonomy
Angaria ornatissima was named by Gabb (1864). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Texas Flat, which is in a Campanian marginal marine sandstone in the Chico Formation of California. It is the type species of Atira.
It was recombined as Margarita ornatissima by White (1889); it was recombined as Margarites (Atira) ornatissima by Stewart (1927); it was recombined as Atira ornatissima by Squires (2010).
