Taxonomy
Obolus ruchini was named by Khazanovich et al. (1984) [Obolus ruchini Khazanovitch & Popov]. Its type specimen is CNIGR 5/11916 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tosna River, Leningrad [Gertovo Unit, Sablin Fm], which is in a Furongian marine sandstone/shale in the Sablinskaya Formation of the Russian Federation.
