Taxonomy
Mitromorpha intermedia was named by Arnold (1903). It is extant. Its type locality is Deadman Island area - Lower San Pedro Series (1900s-1950s) [San Pedro Sand], which is in a Pleistocene coastal sandstone in the San Pedro Sand Formation of California.

It was recombined as Mitromorpha filosa intermedia by Berry (1908); it was recombined as Mitromorpha gracilior intermedia by Dall (1921); it was synonymized subjectively with Mangelia (Mitromorpha) gracilior by Grant and IV and Gale (1931); it was recombined as Cymakra intermedia by Hendy (2021).
