Taxonomy
Ammonites funiferus was named by Phillips (1829). It is not extant. Its type specimen is OUM J16381.

It was recombined as Longaeviceras funiferum by Buckman (1918); it was recombined as Chamoussetia funifera by Callomon and Wright (1989).
