Chemnitzia tridentata was named by Carpenter (1865). It is extant.

It was recombined as Turbonilla (Lancea) tridentata by Arnold (1903); it was recombined as Turbonilla (Mormula) tridentata by Dall and Bartsch (1909); it was recombined as Turbonilla tridentata by DeLong (1941); it was recombined as Paramormula tridentata by Hendy (2021).
