Taxonomy
Sebecus ayrampu was named by Bravo et al. (2021). Its type specimen is PVL 2606, a partial skull (Rostral portion of skull and mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Near Mina Aguilar (PVL), which is in a Selandian/Thanetian terrestrial horizon in the Mealla Formation of Argentina.
