Mangelia arteaga was named by Dall and Bartsch (1910). It is extant.

It was recombined as Mangilia (Kurtziella) arteaga by Dall (1919); it was recombined as Mangelia (Kurtziella) arteaga by Oldroyd (1925); it was recombined as Mangelia (Bela) arteaga by Grant and IV and Gale (1931); it was recombined as Kurtzia arteaga by Hendy (2021).
