Cerithiopsidella fossilis

Taxonomy
Cerithiopsis fossilis was named by Bartsch (1911). Its type specimen is USNM 195193, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Deadman Island area - Lower San Pedro Series (1900s-1950s) [San Pedro Sand], which is in a Pleistocene coastal sandstone in the San Pedro Sand Formation of California.

It was recombined as Cerithiopsis arnoldi fossilis by Woodring et al. (1946); it was recombined as Cerithiopsidella fossilis by Hendy (2021).
